Cow face posture helps developing leg muscles, arms, trunk. It increases bone strength with flexibility of joints in both the legs and arms. Practicing this asana can release tension and it is suggested for practicing Breath in easy pose. Cow face posture is very much helpful for gynaecological problems, diabetes and high blood pressure. It strengthen the leg muscles hence decreasing cramps and sprains. The total expansion of the chest helps the lungs and heart, whereas the complete extension of the spine helps the back.
1. Sit on Easy pose.
2. Place the right knee on the left knee so that the left heel touches the right buttocks and the right heel touches the left buttocks.
3. Raise the right arm over the head, bend it at the elbow and keep downwards on the upperback.
4. Then fold the left hand from the elbow and raise the left forearm behind the lower back (See the Pic).
Note: The hand and foot of same side should be on the top.
5. Clasp both hands behind the back keeping the spine straight.
6. Hold this posture breathing normally. Holding time various for every individual.
7. Unclasp the hands and repeat the posture on other side for same duration.)
8. Change the position of legs and follow the steps (2) to (7).
